History
Clay County Rehabilitation Center, Inc. (CCRC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation providing services since 1974 to Clay County and surrounding area residents with disabilities. The original intent of forming CCRC was to provide a day program to disabled residents of a local long-term care residential facility. Over the years, the agency has expanded to provide services to residents of nine (9) different long-term care facilities in Flora and surrounding counties. We also serve individuals who live with relatives or independently with a variety of day programs and vocational programs.
Clay County Rehabilitation Center has occupied a number of structures in Flora over the past years. In 1985 the agency was able to acquire a school building that the local school district had recently replaced. The agency soon after built a small workshop building on the property. This structure now is the location of the agency's Recycling Center. In 1996, Clay County Rehabilitation Center was able to purchase a production facility in the local Industrial Park. At this time all of the agency's vocational programs were relocated to the Industrial Park location.
CCRC is governed by a Board of Directors made up of citizens from the Clay County area, who volunteer their time and effort to maintain and improve the service offered at CCRC.
